A sofa, two chest of drawers, a child pram, etc were delivered this week (25.3) to refugees in our area – along with a car load of clothes, shoes, etc for the next container to Syria. Now we just need to deliver a table and three chairs to a refugee family and one chair to an individual. Many thanks to everyone who donated and thanks to John for helping with the heavy lifting..
We have now also been given three guitars – so more refugees and asylum seekers can get an instrument. Many thanks to the previous owners of the guitars.
We would like to start paying for music lessons and have applied for a grant for this. Likewise with offering sports club membership.
We are working with Survivors of Torture Activities Fund (STAF) who can pay for sports club membership for individuals who are referred by Freedom from Torture. In situations where STAF funds the fee for one family member we would like to offer the other family members the options of an activity too – so they have the possibility of doing things together. We start with one family next month.
