Sri Lankan food served

On 18th March we had asylum seekers and refugees coming to the Chapel in Blackshaw Head, which also acts as a community centre.
It was great to welcome some new members to the group.
Arts and craft activities took place in the upstairs room where there were also a lot of games. All the children could take home games with them thanks to donations by Lynette.
Some of the adults and children went to a local house to play table tennis while others cooked lunch for around 30 people. We had Sri Lankan food – three different dishes. Four different nationalities were involved in the cooking.
Lots of clothes, shoes, furniture, etc were distributed, which will now be delivered to the homes of the asylum seekers and refugees.
Many thanks to the many drivers and volunteers who helped out on the day
