We had 25 people coming on Saturday. Most of them went on a walk to see a smallholding with sheep, geese, ducks, chickens and pigs. Many thanks to Phil and Lucy for inviting us.
Other activities included football, table tennis, making rabbits out of old socks and sheep out of cotton wool, planting vegetable plants in the poly tunnel, some singing and of course lunch followed by birthday cakes.
We consulted the refugees about future activities and one of the outcomes is the setting up of a walking group that will start this Wednesday. Thanks to Beryl and Mariam for organising this.
On 3rd June we will be going to the Country Fair in Todmorden – http://todmordencountryfair.co.uk/.
On 8th July we will visit Red Acre in Mytholmroyd and on 26th August we will have a sports day.
On 16th September we will have our second Welcome Festival at the Central Methodist Church in Todmorden in the afternoon.
