Visit to Red Acre

43 refugees and asylum seekers came to visit Red Acre in Mytholmroyd – http://www.redacre.org/.

They were warmly welcomed by members of Red Acre who had prepared drinks and snacks. A nearby park offered the opportunity of a good football game.

Others were shown around the Red Acre site, which has allotments, play area, pond, bee hives, poly tunnels, etc.

They Blue Teapot café had prepared lunch for everyone, which was served at St Michael’s Enterprise Centre. After lunch there was a story teller to entertain the children. Many thanks to them all for their help.

Later some of the women made Arabic bread in the oven at the Red Acre site.

Many thanks to the volunteers who helped out organising this wonderful event. Special thanks to Frances, Phil and Gavin who organised the program.
