Many thanks to the organisers of the Great Get Together weekend in Blackshaw Head for inviting Together We Grow to all the events.
On Saturday we had 28 refugees and asylum seekers coming to the ceilidh held in a barn. A band got many of them up dancing and laughing. They had never been to a ceilidh before.
On Sunday we had 19 coming for lunch before going to Colden J&I School for a family event – followed by the duck race. The horse riding behind the school was particularly popular.
Many thanks to everyone who made the refugees and asylum seekers feel so welcomed. Special thanks to our many drivers who gave lifts from and to the train station.
