Visit to Todmorden

About 50 asylum seekers and refugees from Rochdale and Halifax came to our event in Todmorden on 5th October. We had lunch at the Central Methodist Church – chicken curry and vegetable curry. This was prepared by members of the Mosque in Todmorden.
After lunch those who wanted to take the children to the park to play did that while others went to the Mosque to pray at 2pm. At 2.30pm those who wanted to see the Mosque and hear about its work could do so.
We all returned to the Methodist Church for tea, coffee, juice, biscuits and fruits.
A lot of donations from our community of clothes, blankets, towels, shoes, etc were displayed for the asylum seekers and refugees to take.
Special thanks go to the four volunteers from the Methodist Church, the five volunteers from the Mosque and the six volunteers from Together We Grow who helped with food, washing up, cleaning the rooms afterwards, etc.
