In the first 9 months of Together We Grow’s financial year we spent £14,000. A large part of that is leisure activities for asylum seekers as they receive less than £6 per day for food, clothes, transport, telephone, etc. Last month we spent £500 on leisure activities, which does not include when we have to pay a leisure centre a once-off fee for the year of around £250 per person.
Our lunch and trip to the cinema with snacks and drinks there costed us £510.
This month the refugees and asylum seekers living in Halifax will have the opportunity to see a film at the Picture in Hebden Bridge on 22nd February while the refugees and asylum seekers living in Rochdale will have the opportunity to see a film in Rochdale on 25th February – both in the afternoon.
