Asylum seekers helped local residents at the community orchard on 11th June. Grass was removed around the fruit bushes and the bushes at the windbreak. Wood chip was spread around the fruit trees and bushes. The plum trees were pruned and some more steps were created. All in all a very productive afternoon.
Some of the asylum seekers played in the garden while others made lunch for those who were not fasting during Ramadan. Everyone picked a lot of salads, herbs, etc and got a mango to take home. Some got topsoil, plant pots and plants to take home so they can grow things themselves.
Many thanks to all those who gave lifts and helped out on the day.
