Many to thank

The Welcome Festival this Saturday at the Birchcliffe Centre at 1.30pm would not have happened if it was not for the many volunteers who are helping out – around 30, doing lunch for up to a hundred asylum seekers, refugees and volunteers, taking walking groups up from Hebden Bridge train station to the Birchcliffe Centre, serving tea, coffee, juice and cakes, arranging stalls, etc, etc. Many thanks to them all.
We would also like to thank Calderdale Community Transport for providing a minibus and a driver for free to transport the refugees, to Community Foundation for Calderdale for the grant, to Hebden Bridge Community PA for providing the PA system and running it today, to St. John’s Ambulance for coming to offer medical help if needed, to Julie for the face painting, to Neil for making things out of balloons and to the Print Bureau for printing all the advertising.
