Finished packing the 2000 food parcels for Syria Friday evening at 9pm. The women on the picture hold three of the food parcels.
Yesterday, the two 40 foot containers were filled with clothes, medical equipment, food, etc from 11am to the evening. Asylum seekers, refugees and members of Together We Grow helped out.
Throughout the day hot food (meat and vegetarian), hot and cold drinks, snacks, etc were served to the volunteers.
Homeless people are also being fed at the old Magistrates Court, which was bought by the Golden Mosque in an auction and the plan is to turn it into a community hub.
The whole placed buzzed with energy, humour and community spirit. Congratulations to the organisers for planning it so well.
