On Sunday 24th July a couple of a hundred people met at Todmorden Town Hall, where they first heard speeches by the mayor of Todmorden and a local vicar about the importance of showing kindness to each other, including towards non-white people and foreigners. The flooding on Boxing Day and the outpouring of support was used as a concrete example. Afterwards everyone joined hands around the Town Hall in a show of solidarity.
