Yesterday, two members of Together We Grow went to Birmingham for the Welcome Summit, which was attended by around 500 people from groups in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England supporting asylum seekers and refugees.
There were a large number of 3-4 minutes speeches from UNHCR, Safe Passage, the Home Office Resettlement Team, Bristol Council, the National Refugee Welcome Board, Refugee Action, Refugee Council, the All Party Parliamentary Group on Refugees, the Anti-Slavery Commissioner, Birmingham City Council, Migrants Organise, Cristian Aid, Citizens UK, Liberal Jews, various refugees, young people, etc.
There were also training courses and workshops, songs and music, lunch and refreshments.
