Christmas present for Together We Grow?

Together We Grow supports asylum seekers and refugees. We invite them on daytrips around Calderdale, to cultural events, support them to access leisure activities, have a walking group, one-to-one English conversation sessions, grow food they can take home and provide furniture, bicycles, clothes, prams, books, etc donated by members of our community. An asylum seeker receives £5.75 per day to live on plus accommodation from the government.

When we have events we pay for their travel expenses and provide them with lunch and refreshments. We do receive some funding for this work, from Calderdale Council and Community Foundation For Calderdale. However, this funding does not cover all our costs. We are also dependent on donations from members of the public. We do not have any paid staff – we are all volunteers.

If you wish to support Together We Grow financially there are two ways of doing this and you are welcome to do both:

a. You can donate online via https://localgiving.org/charity/togetherwegrow/. If you are a UK tax payer you can also Gift Aid your donation which will add an extra 25% to Together We Grow.

b. If you are a member of the Co-op every time you shop at Co-op, 1% of what you spend on selected own-branded products and services can go to help fund community projects like Together We Grow – see https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/. Just choose to support Together We Grow.
