Our management committee met to look at recent events and planning future events. We also had a financial report which included an update on the 27 asylum seekers we currently fund leisure activities for. We have another 7 asylum seekers on the waiting list.
19 refugees and asylum seekers have said they will come to the concert at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax.
On Saturday 19th October we will all meet up in Hebden Bridge, play in the park, have lunch at Hope Baptist Church and then see a film at the Picture House.
The Coop has invited us to a couple of events on 6th and 23rd November.
It was decided to investigate a weekend visit in the Spring to the Peace Centre near Warrington and an offer from a Syrian pianist to come to the Square Chapel for a concert in support of Together We Grow.
The meeting finished with sharing a sweet potato curry, salad and a Palestinian dish.
