Many thanks to Health & Wellbeing Fund for their grant of £5,000, which has now been spent on waterproof walking boots and raincoats.
This has allowed local refugees and asylum seekers and their families to stay dry and warm when participating in a walking group (‘Walk and talk goes hand in hand’), going to college or shopping when it is raining or showing.
The feedback has been fantastic. Coming from warm, sunny countries it takes a mental shift to go outside in the cold and wet Calderdale weather.
