In addition to the food parcels delivered up to half-term Together We Grow joined forces with St Augustine’s Centre to give over 450 food parcels to 126 asylum seeker families in Calderdale. Christmas presents

Many thanks to St Augustine for the Christmas presents so each family member can get a present. A lot has been donated by businesses in Calderdale worth thousands of pounds. They have now all been delivered. Many thanks to Charlotte and David for delivering car loads of duvets and food parcels around Calderdale and Rochdale.
New duvets

We had 49 new duvets delivered tonight after the delivery van broke down on the motorway. Some are King size and some are single duvets as ordered by the refugees and asylum seekers. We got them for £490 and they are now all delivered.
Jewelry workshop

Flour donated

The government has decided that the support for asylum seekers to be increased by 3 pence per week from £39.60 to £39.63 or £5.66 per day. This is meant to cover food, clothes, transport, toiletries, telephone, etc but not accommodation. All the charities supporting asylum seekers condemn this as an insult.
